In 2021 Hope for Mtshabezi, Inc. (HFM) opened it’s first clinic. The JoNa Clinic at Mayezane, (named in honor of Jona and Nana Mlotshwa parents of Founder Hlengiwe Lindani Mlotshwa-Sibanda). Hope for Mtshabezi was founded in 2005 by a group of Zimbabwean professionals in the USA diaspora. Mrs. Hlengiwe Lindani Mlotshwa-Sibanda, Dr. Ernest Simela, and Mrs. Doreen Khumalo-Moyo. The organization grew to include other Board Members and donors, who work tirelessly for the organization’s success. The clinic has evolved from a long history of partnering with the community, other institutions, rural clinics, and hospitals in the area (2005-2008), and (2008-2016) setting up free Community Health Outreach events in different areas of the Gwanda District.
A community where everyone has access to healthcare services, therefore reducing the incidents of preventable diseases, and improving the quality of life for the villagers. Healthy villagers can work in their fields and homesteads to sustain their families. A healthy community is a productive community.
